Dissertation

We had a great session with Felicia Jing discussing her forthcoming essay about Donald Knuth and the prehistory of the algorithm and Computer Science. I’m excited to work a bit more on Knuth in the coming weeks as I prepare for a paper about literate programming that I will present at HAPOC in Basel this coming November, as I received notice this week that my paper (tentatively titled “The Source and its Bugs: The Cosmos of Illiterate Programming”) was accepted.

I also spent a few hours reading Ernst Cassirer’s Philosophy of Symbolic Forms, as an internal reading group at the Digital Theory Lab is studying it this semester.
